Information about "Gratiszahnspange"
Requirement for the additional payment for "Gratiszahnspange"
For IOTN (Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need) grades 4 and 5 and treatment begins between the age of 12 and 18, the health insurance company grants an additional payment of 80% of the health insurance tariff for the free braces § 153a ASVG. This tariff is set annually and for 2019, for example, the SGKK for fixed braces amounts to € 3,703 for the entire treatment period. For early childhood therapy (before the 10th year of life) € 920 for the entire treatment period. The additional payments made by the fund can vary from year to year.
Please check with your health insurance provider for the exact applicable rates.

€57 will be charged for the IOTN classification if no further treatment is carried out.

For the interceptive treatment of children before the age of 10 with IOTN 4 or 5 according to § 153a, costs € 990 to 2,200.

For the main treatment with fixed braces for young people aged 12 - 18 with IOTN 4 or 5 according to § 153a between € 4,990 to 6,450. The costs are usually divided into 3 partial invoices. Installment payments are possible.
